A church is not a place, simply put, it is people organized into a Christian group that worships together. The most important role is simply that of participation in Christian worship. How we are organized is, arguably, of little interest except when someone within or outside our church needs something (information, consideration of an idea, action, etc.). A church can well use a structure, to be sure, just not a physical one; a building for example. All too often the building becomes more important than the people in it. We should never forget that Christ's church is the people, not some edifice of stone and glass. It is the people (church) that glorifies God, not the stone or glass.
A church’s organization structure generally changes only slowly, but the people who fill the various roles in the organization change continuously.
Structural changes result when some member or friend observes a need for a specific change and brings it to our attention. Designation of specific individuals to fill organizational roles generally reflects consideration of the skills and experiences among members – followed by election to that role by our membership.
We do maintain a “Skills/Experience” database to assist in finding the right person to fill specific organizational needs. If you have not filled one out or believe yours should be updated, please contact us and forgive us. In all the paperwork your valuable contribuition may have been missed or misunderstood. Give us another chance to understand and properly value your skills and avility!
If you have a wish to be of service in a specific or general way, let us know this as well.
