The Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) is the official women's organization of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.
The LWML focuses on affirming each woman in her relationship with Christ to enable her to be in ministry among the people of the world. The organization encourages and equips women to live out their Christian lives in active mission ministries and to financially support missions.
For the women of Our Savior Lutheran Church – Waldport (OSLC), the LWML mission is carried on by a group of members who gather for Bible study, devotions and the planning and carrying out of mission activities. All women in the church are automatically members of LWML.
Missions supported by OSLC – LWML have both local and global focus. Local support is through many of the locally established charities, such as the South County Food Bank, the Literacy Center and Meals-on-Wheels. Missions beyond the local interest include such things as Guatemala Mission, Good Sheppard Mission, the Orphan Grain Train and the US military’s Home Auxiliary.
The OSLC – LWML meets the first Thursday of every month at 11:00 am.
Officers include:
- President = Dorothy Bogumil
- Co-President = Jan Livingstone
- Treasurer = Dorothy Bogumil
Women interested in participating in the OSLC – LWML are invited to contact any of the above officers. You may do so via the “Contact Us” button in the navigation pane of our website Home Page.
